Introducing My New Podcast: The Purposeful Shift

There comes a moment in many people’s lives when a quiet question starts to appear.

Is there something more than this?

On the surface, life might look successful. You may have built a career, started a business, or created a life that once felt like the goal. Yet internally there can be a sense that something is shifting.

If you have ever experienced that feeling, you are not alone.

It is exactly this question that led me to launch my new podcast, The Purposeful Shift, where I will be exploring what it really means to live and work with greater purpose.

The first episode is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and Deezer, and in this introduction episode I share the story behind why this conversation matters so much to me.

Why I Created The Purposeful Shift Podcast

As I approached my 40th birthday, I found myself reflecting more deeply on the path my life had taken. Not in a negative way, but with curiosity.

Had I been living intentionally, or simply following the path that felt expected?

Psychologists often describe midlife as a period of reassessment where people begin evaluating their values, identity and life direction. Many people reach a stage where they begin questioning what success and fulfilment truly mean.

For me, that reflection opened the door to a much bigger conversation about purpose. And that conversation is what inspired this podcast.

The Search For More Meaning

Like many people hitting a milestone birthday, I wanted to celebrate the moment. I decided to embrace adventure, travel and new experiences. And while those experiences were wonderful, they also helped me realise something important. External experiences alone do not always fill the deeper desire for purpose.

Research shows that while new experiences trigger dopamine in the brain, creating excitement and motivation, long term fulfilment tends to come from meaning, contribution and personal growth rather than constant stimulation.

Purpose is not something we find in a single moment.

It is something we gradually uncover through reflection and action.

Why So Many People Are Questioning Their Direction

Today, more people than ever are asking these deeper questions. Partly this comes from the pace of modern life. Many of us are constantly busy but rarely take time to pause and reflect. Social media also plays a role. We are surrounded by carefully curated versions of other people’s lives and achievements.

And worryingly, studies have shown that excessive social comparison online can negatively impact wellbeing and self esteem. When we constantly compare ourselves to others, it becomes harder to hear our own voice.

That is why creating space for reflection is so important.

The Fear That Often Sparks Change

One powerful driver behind personal change is something many of us quietly carry. I know I do. The fear of regret.

At some point many people realise they do not want to look back later in life wondering what might have happened if they had taken a chance or followed an idea.

Research into end of life reflections shows that people tend to regret the opportunities they did not pursue more than the risks they took.

That realisation can be incredibly motivating when it’s shared with others who still have time. It encourages us to ask bigger questions about the life we want to create.

What The Purposeful Shift Podcast Is About

The Purposeful Shift podcast is a space to explore those questions.

Through honest conversations, personal reflections and practical insights, the podcast will explore:

• how we recognise when life is nudging us towards change
• what purpose really means in the modern world
• how to move through fear and uncertainty
• how to build a life and business that feels meaningful and aligned

Some episodes will share my own experiences and lessons. Others will feature conversations with inspiring women who have navigated their own purposeful shifts and are following their hearts.

The aim is simple. To start more honest conversations about the lives we are creating and the choices available to us.

A Final Thought

If you have ever felt that quiet pull towards something more, this podcast is for you. Not because you need to change everything in your life. But because sometimes the most important thing we can do is pause long enough to ask the question.

What do I really want next?

If that question has been sitting quietly in the background of your life, I hope this podcast helps you explore it.
